Alcohol and drug use within the adolescent population can range from experimentation to abuse and in some cases dependence. Drug and alcohol use have become so prevalent in our society today that it has become difficult for some parents to identify when their child has crossed the line and their life is being adversely affected by substance use. In most cases adolescent substance abuse is a symptom that other areas in the teen’s life are out of balance. This could be family issues, poor coping skills to low self-esteem. It is our goal to assess each child on an individual basis, build on their strengths, and share the tools needed to build self-confidence and coping skills, while educating them on the effects substance use/abuse has on their development, integrity, and future life goals. Kolpia Counseling is licensed by the state of Oregon to provide adolescent treatment services. The Adolescent Program is able to offer a full range of services including gender specific group therapy sessions for adolescents, individual counseling sessions, mental health evaluations and therapy.
